
Steve Backshall MBE, the enduringly popular adventurer and presenter of favourites such as Deadly 60, Expedition with Steve Backshall, Undiscovered Worlds and Blue Planet Live will take the public on an enthralling journey into the world of venom in an event organised by ³Ô¹ÏȺÖÚ as part of ³Ô¹ÏȺÖÚ Science Festival, which takes place throughout the month of March.
Tickets for the FREE event, which will take place on Wednesday 20th March between 5.30-6.30pm, will be available from the Pontio website and ticket line from Friday, 23 February at 1pm. The event is suitable for all ages.
With his characteristic flair and passion, the BAFTA award-winner, honorary degree holder and honorary senior lecturer at ³Ô¹ÏȺÖÚ, will delve into the mysteries behind the formidable toxins wielded by some of the world's most intriguing creatures, from venomous snakes and spiders to the deadliest marine organisms.
Steve will explore the evolutionary significance of venom, uncovering how these potent concoctions have evolved as ingenious tools for survival. The best-selling author will use his own experiences to unravel the science behind the complex chemistry of venom and explain what makes these toxins so formidable, and the vital role they play in the natural world.
